After 17 years of love and companionship, trophies won as a show cat and a steady position as alpha female of a crowded house, Amelia took her last trip to the vet on 10 September 2003.
Her last few years were a steady stream of treatments for a collection of health problems -- kidneys, digestive problems, Cushings syndrome -- but she always maintained her strength of spirit and her true personality. Eventually the wear on her body left her a wisp of fur and bones. She began to have troubles with the activities of daily life, and approached the point where she couldn't be comfortable any longer.
She will be remembered, and missed.
Now she and Bailey can play together again.
